Locking Mechanism Options
For the Glide frameless multi-slide system, there are several locking options:
Plunger Lock:
This lock secures the panel by pushing a plunger down into position, providing enhanced security.
Auto Catch Lock:
This standard option includes a lever that activates a spring-loaded mechanism. Simply push the lever down, and the panel automatically locks in place.
An optional version includes levers on both sides, allowing locking and unlocking from either the inside or outside.
Patch Lock:
Mounted directly onto the glass, this lock uses a thumb turn to secure the panel within the jamb profile.
Panel Adjustment
Occasionally, panels may need adjustment, particularly after installation or if the structure settles. There are two primary adjustments:
Height Adjustment:
Insert a hex key into the roller mechanism at the end of the panel and turn clockwise or counterclockwise to raise or lower the panel.
Each panel has two sets of rollers, one on each side, allowing for precise balance and alignment.
Strike Plate Adjustment:
If the lock isn’t catching properly, adjust the strike plate in the jamb profile. Use a hex key to loosen the plate, move it to the desired height, and tighten it to secure the adjustment.
System Configuration
Our showroom features a five-panel system with five tracks. Here's how it works:
Start by pulling the handle on the first panel; each panel captures the next one in sequence.
Panel configurations range from 2 to 5 panels, with tracks approximately 1 inch wide per panel (e.g., a five-panel system uses a 5-inch track).
Panels can be stored on either end of the track or even in the middle for flexibility in ventilation or traffic flow.
The system includes an auto catch lock mechanism, which secures panels automatically when positioned in place.
Glass Specifications
The system uses 10 mm (3/8 inch) clear tempered glass with polished, beveled edges to prevent cuts.
Tempered glass is highly durable and shatters into small, less harmful pieces when broken, complying with building code requirements.
While rare, ceramics or metal objects hitting the edges of the glass pose the greatest risk of breakage.
Track Options
The Glide system offers both standard and recessed track options:
Standard Tracks:
Available in 2, 3, 4, and 5-track versions.
Each track is approximately 1 inch wide and designed to guide a single panel.
Recessed Tracks:
These tracks have flanges to conceal the edges, making them ideal for installations where grout or sealant is required.
They can also be mounted on top of a surface with optional ramps to reduce trip hazards and provide smoother access for mobility devices.
Top Tracks:
Corresponding top tracks are available for each configuration (e.g., 3-track, 4-track, and 5-track).
Each top track includes brush pile seals to create a smooth surface for the panels to slide through, enhancing performance and reducing air leakage.
Key Points:
Locking Mechanisms:
Plunger Lock: More secure, locks by pressing down and holding the panel in place.
Auto Catch Lock: Spring-loaded mechanism with a lever, locks automatically when panels align; can have levers on both sides.
Patch Lock: Mounted directly on the glass with a thumb turn to secure it to the jamb profile.
Panel Adjustments:
Adjustments are made using an Allen (hex) key to raise or lower panels for alignment, particularly necessary after installation.
Strike plate adjustments ensure the lock catches properly by repositioning it within the jamb profile.
Panel System Configurations:
Available in 2 to 5-panel configurations, with each panel having its own track (e.g., a five-panel system uses five tracks).
Panels can be moved and stored on either side of the system for flexibility in traffic flow and ventilation.
Glass Specifications:
The system uses 10mm (3/8 inch) clear tempered glass with polished, beveled edges for safety.
Tempered glass is durable and designed to break into small, less harmful pieces if damaged.
Track Options:
Bottom and top tracks are available in 3, 4, and 5-track configurations.
Recessed sills provide a seamless look by hiding flanges and can be installed with optional ramps to minimize tripping hazards.
Tracks feature brush pile seals for smooth glass movement and improved sealing.
